Here’s the thing about online marketing…
You get the best results when:
1) you isolate the work you need to do
initially into separate steps, and,
2) you focus on one step at a time.
And what I mean by that is…
You have to separate the compelling from the convincing. Because the “compelling” is part of your Profit Activator 2, and the “convincing” part belongs in your Profit Activator 3. The first thing you want to do is to attract eyeballs to your website. But then, once you have those eyeballs, you only focus on getting their names and email addresses.
How do you do that?
By giving them something they really, really want. A book, a guide, or a report of something they’re already thinking about. And most of the time, this means giving your prospects something that has nothing to do with your product or service per se.
For example…
It’s way more compelling to give away “Free 2017 Report On Lakefront House Prices”… than trying to convince people to download “3 Ways Acme Realtors Help You Sell Your House”.
Notice the difference? The first one is compelling because it’s all about THEM… while the latter is about YOU. Anyway. Once you get them to raise their hand… Now you shift your focus on the “educating and motivating” part. You’re in your Profit Activator 3. Which means… NOW’s the time to start with the convincing part.
So rather than looking at your website as the only chance, you’ve got to tell your visitors everything about YOU… rather than trying to draw all the attention to your product or service… Use that website to focus on one thing only: “How do I compel my ideal prospect to raise their hand?”
Because once you’ve got someone’s attention… Once you have their email address and the chance to start a conversation with them… Now you’ve got all the time in the world to continue to educate and motivate them… to continue making your offers…
Until they’re ready to buy.
